- Ingredients: Whole grains (64%)(wheat, oats), fruit (sultanas [12%], apricot pieces [5%][concentrated apricot puree, concentrated apple puree, invert sugar, humectant (glycerol), sugar, wheat fibre, gelling agent (pectin), acidity regulator (296), natural flavour, colours (turmeric, paprika)], sugar, puffed triticale (wheat), wheat flour, barley malt extract, salt, natural flavour, minerals (iron, zinc oxide), vitamins (niacin, vitamin B6, riboflavin, folate).
- Added vitamins and minerals, including B vitamins, iron and zinc.
- Allergens: wheat, gluten
- May contain: peanuts, tree nuts
- With 4g of fibre per serve, Just Right is a high fibre cereal.
- One serve of Just Right provides 3mg of iron, which is the same as two Weet-Bix and more than a quarter of daily iron requirements for young children. In combination with added zinc, this makes it a good choice for kids who are still learning to like meat.
- At 30mg per 100g, sodium content is super low – in fact, this is one of the lowest sodium cereals on the market.
- Sugar content of 22.9g per 100g exceeds our guidelines (aiming for less than 15g per 100g). Around 8g of this comes from the sultanas, with the remainder (15g) from fruit concentrates and added sugars. The added sugar content of Just Right is a lot lower than Nutri-Grain (24g per 100g) or Milo Cereal (26.9g per 100g).
- At $10.70 per kg for the large value pack, Just Right is more expensive than Sultana Bran ($8.80 per kg) and more than double the price of Weet-Bix or oats.
- “High in Fibre & Whole Grain”. True.
- “25% of your RDI of Iron & 4 B Vitamins”. This statement is true for children and men, but teenage girls and women have higher iron requirements.
- I’m still loyal to Weet-Bix, Low Sugar Cheerios or oats as my go-to brekkie cereals.
- I’d choose Sultana Bran over Just Right for its even higher fibre and lower added sugar, but Just Right is still a reasonable option to add to your breakfast rotation if you’re looking for some variety.
